A desire to bring information to people in a fastest way

There are many people who became rich by exploring the information on the Internet. However, in Thai Nguyen, accessing the Internet is unfamiliar with people, in general, and with farmers, in particular for farmers do not have computers, and they often relax after a hard working day.

 

In order to change this habit, and help farmers to get information by searching for information on the Internet, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) has carried out the project ""A pilot project to improve the use of computer and access public Internet in Thai Nguyen". Thus, people in the country  in Thai Nguyen can find helpful information, and have a right decision to raise the animals, plants, time and place to sell the products. Mr. Le Doan Hop, Minister of Information and Communication, says that "Every changes begins with knowledge. The mission that bring about knowledge by accessing the Internet for people in the country, which has more than 70% of the population, is  one of the most important ones. The construction of public place to access the Internet, in general, and the system of post office in the country, in particular, can  develop stably, and become a public house for people in the country is a long term duty ..."

 

With a clear objective, the project is deployed to support computers in 33 public places to access the Internet as post offices, libraries, hospitals, and schools. Each place will be supported from 5 to 20 computers, a printer and other devices... so that people can access the Internet without paying fees. Furthermore, the project attaches special important to both educate people, and create opportunities for people to use computers and access the Internet fluently. Accordingly, from 20/07/2009 the project will organize courses to educate people (for example: librarians, post officers, officers and people) how to use computers, and search for information on the Internet.

 

Thus, the project also attaches special important to learners, who are farmers in rural areas as Yen Ninh, On Luong, Tuc Tranh (Phu Luong District); Hop Tien (Dong Hy District); Trang Xa, Dan Tien, Lau Thuong, Cuc Duong, Binh Long (Vo Nhai District), attend the course, and have direct benefits from the project. They will receive the knowledge and apply this to their living and working. As a result, this project will apply many methods to teach people, for example, direct or indirect approaches.

 

After attending these courses, each learner will be equipped basic knowledge about computing, such as: general knowledge about information and technology, some kinds of computers and their devices, some software, some basic skills so they can use the computers and access the Internet.

For people in rural areas, this is a prospective project so people are eager and look forward to attending these courses to make a successful project and change their lives.
