After a year of construction, on January 23rd 20, Thai Market, including Do''s Mart supermarket and a system of wholesale and retail stands was put into operation. This is the most modern and greatest building for business in Thai Nguyen in particular and in the whole northern mountainous area of Vietnam in general.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Vuong, Secretary of the Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of Thai Nguyen National Assembly Delegation, Mr. Pham Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and other provincial authorities as well as representatives from neighbor provinces.
The new Thai Market locates in the same place as the previous city''s center market, inheriting the reliable brand of its precursor. After the first phase of the market construction project, a 40,000-square-meter building with 4 floors and a down stair has been finished with the total investment of more than 135 billion VND of he Trung Tin Joint-stock Company. The market is divided into many different areas such as entertainment one, supermarket, wholesale and retail stands, attracting more than 1000 businesses.
The new market was designed not only modernly but harmoniously with environment. Facilitated with the air-condition system, plumbing system, firefighting equipments and other facilities, it ensures the environmental sanitation and the convenience for customers as well as businesses.
Stating at the ceremony, Mr. Duong highly appreciated the socio-economic significances as well as its architectural value of the building as a prominent one of Thai Nguyen city in particular and Thai Nguyen province in general.
