At 11 p.m on January 26 in 2008, the Chiem Hoa Ferro Manganese Factory, located in Phuc Thinh commune, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province, which belongs to the Chien Cong – Tuyen Quang Minerals Joint-stock Company (under the Chien Cong Industry and Transportation Cooperative in Thai Nguyen), started producing its first batch of silico-manganese.

This event is considered as a new pace of developments of the Chien Cong Industry and Transportation Cooperative.

It has taken one year and 100 billion VND to build the Chiem Hoa Ferro Manganese Factory with the capacity of 15,000 tons of silico-manganese 56-17 a year. The facility will churn out international standard products, meeting the domestic needs of steel additive as well as exporting to Japanese market. The factory has created 400 jobs for local residents with the monthly average income of 1.5 to 2 million VND, positively contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

In the second period of the project (at the end of the first quarter of 2008), the Chien Cong – Tuyen Quang Minerals Joint-stock Company is scheduled to start construction of an electrolytic manganese dioxide factory with the total investment of 200 billion VND, producing Electrolytic Manganese Metal(EMM) Mn 99.6%. The factory equipped with the Japanese advanced technology is expected to produce 10,000 tons EMM a year. The whole products will be exported to Japan and Europe by the Japanese partner.
Using advanced mineral processing, these factories do not only create more jobs and raise income for locality but also prevent the country from ore export and improve mineral product value, saving the country''s natural resources.
