Within the framework of 2007 Thai Nguyen International Trade Fair, Thai Nguyen Provincial People''s Committee cooporated with the Ministry of Plan and Investment, and Vietnam Trade and Industry Department to organize the Trade and Tourism Investment Promotion Workshop in Thai Nguyen on November 16th 2007.
Attending the workshop were Mr. Pham Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People''s Committee; Mr. Cao Viet Sinh, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and many other leaders from government agencies of Thai Nguyen province and neighboring provinces as well as more than 200 domestic and foreign enterprises and investors.
In the greeting speech, Mr. Pham Xuan Duong stressed that the province urges to receive a lot of open and straight opinions from investors and enterprises in order to improve the investment environment.
At the workshop, many provincial investment fields and some tourism and trade projects were introduced to call for capital, aiming at developing the potential of Thai Nguyen in particular and the northern mountainous area of Vietnam in general.
Many issues on Thai Nguyen investment environment were released and discussed by localities and investors. Especially, investors highly expected that the province will accelerate the processes of ground-clearing, infrastructure development and resettlement area construction, assuring social security for project implementation.
At the end of the workshop, the provincial leaders solemnly granted the Investment Certificates for 7 investors and signed cooporation agreements with 20 investors in 25 projects on trade and tourism. In the afternoon, investors and enterprises took a tour round some investment areas such as Luong Son ecotourist area, Thai market area, Tan Thanh ecological area, Diem Thuy industrial zone, Nui Coc Lake tourist area.
