In the initiation of economic recovery after resistance wars, with the assistances of friend countries, especially the former Soviet Union, some significant companies such as Song Cong Diesel Co., Appurtenances Co., Medical Equipment Co., etc were built in Go Dam industrial zone.
We visited Go Dam industrial zone (in Song Cong town) on November 11th 2007, just at the time when activities to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the October Revolution were being held across the world. The manufacture operations were being carried out in an enthusiastic atmosphere there.
At the lathe plant of the Single-member Appurtenances Limited Company No.1, by about ten newly installed lathes, workers were trying their best to meet the needs of customers in time, said the shop foreman. A surprise for us was the existence of some systems made in the former Soviet Union for a long time (since 1967) which are still running as good as the new ones in the workshop.
The Single-member Appurtenances Ltd. Company No.1, whose precursor was the Car Parts Plant No.1 of the Vietnam Engines and Agricultural Machines Corporation, was built in Go Dam in 1975 with great assistances from international friends, especially the former Soviet Union, such as help in equipment, installation and staff training, etc, enabling the company to overcome the difficulties in the market economy for a stable and fast development.
Presently the company has installed 10 production lines of lathes, casting machines, forging hammers, thermal machines, etc in order to provide a variety of products such as cylinder tubes, valves, hydraulic gear boxes, tea driers, harvesters… as well as millions motorbike parts for many international brands (Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda,…). The company''s products were granted ISO 9001:2000 certificate.
It is likely that the Song Cong Single-member Diesel Ltd. Company was the one receiving more assistance from the Russian friends than the others in Go Dam industrial zone. Currently, the company still possesses a manufacture infrastructure system, which has been renewed, and some machines descended from the former Soviet Union. Besides, many technical staffs trained in the friendly country have proved their positive contributions for the company''s development during the past years.
To meet the needs of the domestic and overseas markets, the Song Cong Single-member Diesel Ltd. Company has gradually invested in advanced machines and technologies. Recently, the company has finished installing an axle plant and a continuously cast steel strand and many other mechanical machines and started the project of Samsung engines fitting shop installation phase 1. This year, the company''s income has reached 130 billion VND, in which there are nearly 7 billion VND from export.
The companies in Go Dam industrial zone have gradually been popular with domestic and overseas customers and stably joined the international integration. In these days, an enthusiastic working atmosphere raised by the spirit of the October Revolution has been promoting all the staff here to strive for developments of the units in particular and Thai Nguyen province in general.
