President Triet is making a State-level visit to Japan starting Nov 25 at the invitation of Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. Joining the delegation accompanying President were leaders of the Cao Bang Mineral Joint-stock Company, a member unit under the Chien Cong Industry and Transportation Cooperative, an enterprise in Thai Nguyen.
Mr. Dinh Huy Chien, Head of the Chien Cong Industry and Transportation Cooperative, Chairman of the Cao Bang Mineral Joint-stock Company and Ms. Ha Thi Huong, General Manager of the Cao Bang Mineral Joint-stock Company signed a contract on advanced mineral processing technology handover with the Japanese partner, the Tokyo Boeki Steel & Materials Ltd.
This 40 million USD contract is divided into two phases. The first phase is to develop investment cooperation with the total capital of 15 million USD, the second phase is to form a joint-venture between the two company with the total investment of 25 million USD. Accordingly, the cooperative will build up mineral processing plant in three provinces (Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen) in Vietnam next year.
The Tokyo Boeki Steel & Materials Ltd will be the sole agent for the company''s products such as fero silico mangan, angtimol, zinc and lead in Japanese market. To assure product quality, the Tokyo Hoeki Steel & Materials Ltd. will hand over processing technology and send experts to manage the whole production process. According to the plan, the cooperative will have export products after 14 months of the first phase.
After signing ceremony, Mr. Chien said by phone from Tokyo: ''To implement the government''s strategy on advanced mineral processing in order to save the country''s natural resources, we have chosen a Japanese partner with advanced technology. At present, the cooperative has two plants producing Fero silico mangan 60-14 and Fero silico mangan 65-17 under the two member companies which are the Cao Bang Mineral Joint-stock Company in Cao Bang province and the Chien Cong Mineral and Industry Joint-stock Company in Tuyen Quang province. This contract continually proves the brand as well as the achievements on advanced mineral processing for export of the Chien Cong Industry and Transportation Cooperative.''
