On 13/3/2007, Mr. Nguyen Van Kim, Vice secretary, Chairman of Thai Nguyen people’s committee accompanied by leaders of agricultural and rural development service went on an inspection tour about the production of year-beginning in Phu Binh district.
According to the report made by Mr. Nguyen Van Hao, Vice Chairman of Phu Binh people’s committee: Due to drought weather, Phu Binh authorities have had irrigational works mended, taking reasonable control of water to ensure the adequate supply of production water to spring crop, besides, local farmers were encouraged and assisted to change to cultivating drought-resistant trees. As a result, at the end of February the whole district had cultivated 5000 ha of spring rice, reaching 98,04 % of proposed plan. In the field of infrastructure construction, Phu Binh is clearing the ground for the Project of upgrading highway 37 and preparing for 2 the Projects: Cau May-Dong Lien and Cau Ca-Duong Thanh which use government bonds.
Speaking at the working session, the Chairman highly appreciated Phu Binh’s efforts on ensuring agriculture production, he also requested for speeding up the ground clearing for the Project of upgrading highway 37 since this project is implemented by ODA, the project can not start until the ground clearing the ground clearing is completed. On the other hand, Phu Binh must promptly implement projects of Cau May-Dong Lien and Cau Ca-Duong Thanh to attract investment, promoting the local socio-economic development.
After the working session, the Chairman of Thai Nguyen people’s committee directly inspected 2 projects using government bonds and visited Tan Kim seed plant station.
